![]() Once you’re in the Android SDK directory, type “tools/android” to launch the Android SDK Manager. For example, if you unzipped the Android SDK to your Desktop, you would type “cd Desktop/android-sdk-macosx”. To do this, type “cd” followed by the path to the Android SDK. Now open up a Terminal window and change to the directory where you unzipped the Android SDK. ![]() Once it’s downloaded, unzip it and place it in a convenient location, such as your Desktop. You can do this by downloading the Android SDK from Google. Next, you need to install the Android SDK itself. Under the Components tab, look for and install the “Android SDK Platform-tools” component. Once Xcode is installed, launch it and go to Preferences > Downloads. First, make sure you have Xcode installed. The good news is, if you have a Mac, you can install the Android SDK without too much fuss. If you want to develop Android apps, you need the Android SDK.
